\nApple lanz\u00f3 ya su tercera generaci\u00f3n de la popular tableta \u2013creadora del mercado de tabletas, tal como lo conocemos hoy\u2014y asombr\u00f3 a muchos al no colocarle un n\u00famero o siglas distintivas. Las redes sociales hab\u00edan estado muy activas apostando a diversos nombres: iPad 3, iPad 2S y iPad HD eran las principales opciones. Pero Apple sorprendi\u00f3 al llamar a su nuevo iPad…iPad. as\u00ed de sencillo, sin m\u00e1s siglas ni n\u00fameros, volviendo al nombre original.<\/p>\n

El nuevo iPad cuenta con suficientes mejoras como para considerar que se trata de un verdadero avance evolutivo. La pantalla de alt\u00edsima resoluci\u00f3n con 3.1 millones de p\u00edxeles y superando la resoluci\u00f3n de la TV de alta resoluci\u00f3n, es quiz\u00e1s el mayor diferenciador con las versiones anteriores, pero Apple tambi\u00e9n empaquet\u00f3 otras caracter\u00edsticas novedosas: conexi\u00f3n 4G, software de reconocimiento de voz \u2013aunque no fue Siri\u2014y procesador de alto rendimiento con 4 n\u00facleos gr\u00e1ficos.<\/p>\n

Por supuesto, de inmediato salieron las cr\u00edticas en Internet, de que se trataba de un pobre maquillaje, una actualizaci\u00f3n sin importancia, bla, bla, bla, por parte de los mismo que est\u00e1n pregonando el fracaso de apple en cuanta cosa emprende. Pero para la mayor\u00eda de los usuarios de a pie, el aficionado a los gadgets, y hasta los gammers, la nueva iPad se vuelve irresistible. Y si no lo creen, escriban en su muro de Facebook que regalaran una al amigo que m\u00e1s les escriba… ver\u00e1n como hasta gente que no conocen estar\u00e1 halag\u00e1ndolos.<\/p>\n

Pero m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las bromas y comentarios jocosos, tras este lanzamiento se ve m\u00e1s claro el camino de Apple con sus tabletas: convertirlas en m\u00e1quinas de productividad. Si bien las primeras iPad fueron vistas como una curiosidad, un jugete, o un dispositivo para \u201cconsumir\u201d informaci\u00f3n, Apple se ha dado cuenta que para mantener el mercado creciente las tabletas deben ser algo m\u00e1s que \u201csofisticados\u201d lectores electr\u00f3nicos. Agregar cada vez m\u00e1s capacidades y aplicaciones ser\u00e1 la meta de Apple que empez\u00f3 por incorporar iPhoto al iLife. La idea es que sustituyan —si ley\u00f3 bien: sustituyan\u2014a los PC port\u00e1tiles en muchas de sus funciones, incluyendo la generaci\u00f3n de material multimedia \u201camateur\u201d, y quiz\u00e1s pronto tambi\u00e9n de manera profesional.<\/p>\n

La infraestructura est\u00e1 puesta: pantalla y procesador gr\u00e1fico para soportar generaci\u00f3n en serio de material multimedia. Las aplicaciones est\u00e1n al llegar. La era PostPC que Jobs declar\u00f3, no hace sino empezar. No crean que la nueva iPad, por llamarse iPad como la original, es el mismo dispositivo que vimos nacer en el 2010. Cientos de nuevas aplicaciones aparecer\u00e1n en los meses por venir.<\/p>\n
