\nDe verdad que la relaci\u00f3n Apple-consumidor es realmente especial. Sin importar la poca atenci\u00f3n que le brindan a usuarios y prensa en Latinoam\u00e9rica y otras regiones, los usuarios aman a Apple y se desviven por saber como est\u00e1 Jobs.
\nLa gran cantidad de rumores que se levantaron por la ausencia de Steve Jobs en el MacWorld que se inicia oficialmente hoy, obligaron al propio Steve a realizar una carta p\u00fablica, donde cuenta \u2013muy a su pesar ya que Steve es sumamente reservado\u2014cuales son los motivos que le han hecho perder peso. Un desbalance hormonal ha sido el culpable del mal y pronto ser\u00e1 corregida la perdida de peso seg\u00fan el mismo Steve.<\/p>\n

La verdad es que el peso de \u00e9l sobre la industria de la tecnolog\u00eda, no s\u00f3lo sobre apple, es inmenso y yo a\u00f1adir\u00eda que merecido. En el 99 charlando en el MacWorld con algunos de los empleados de Apple acerca de Jobs, uno me comento que \u201cSteve es un gran l\u00edder, exigente y con algo de mal humor, pero capaz de recordarse el nombre y datos personales de todos los empleados que trabajan con el en el mismo edificio\u201d qui\u00e9n me contaba esto me pidi\u00f3 que no dijera su nombre por que a \u201cSteve\u201d no le gusta que se hable de \u00e9l desde adentro, pero agreg\u00f3 que poco despu\u00e9s de comenzar a trabajar con \u00e9l \u2013Jobs lo hab\u00eda visto solo una vez antes\u2014se lo tropez\u00f3 tarde una noche y Jobs le pregunt\u00f3 como estaban su esposa e hija. Incluso record\u00f3 los nombres de ambas. Con un jefe as\u00ed es natural que los empleados est\u00e9n inspirados. Pero el otro lado de la moneda lo vi cuando minutos despu\u00e9s de la conferencia, Jobs fue a la exposici\u00f3n a admirar los iMacs de colores reci\u00e9n lanzados y uno de mis colegas se le acerco y se presento como periodista latinoam\u00e9ricano que quer\u00eda hablar con el un par de minutos y Jobs apenas le devolvi\u00f3 el saludo \u2013y de mala gana, a decir de mi amigo.<\/p>\n

Dear Apple Community,
\nFor the first time in a decade, I\u2019m getting to spend the holiday season with my family, rather than intensely preparing for a Macworld keynote.
\nUnfortunately, my decision to have Phil deliver the Macworld keynote set off another flurry of rumors about my health, with some even publishing stories of me on my deathbed.
\nI\u2019ve decided to share something very personal with the Apple community so that we can all relax and enjoy the show tomorrow.
\nAs many of you know, I have been losing weight throughout 2008. The reason has been a mystery to me and my doctors. A few weeks ago, I decided that getting to the root cause of this and reversing it needed to become my #1 priority.
\nFortunately, after further testing, my doctors think they have found the cause\u2014a hormone imbalance that has been \u201crobbing\u201d me of the proteins my body needs to be healthy. Sophisticated blood tests have confirmed this diagnosis.
\nThe remedy for this nutritional problem is relatively simple and straightforward, and I\u2019ve already begun treatment. But, just like I didn\u2019t lose this much weight and body mass in a week or a month, my doctors expect it will take me until late this Spring to regain it. I will continue as Apple\u2019s CEO during my recovery.
\nI have given more than my all to Apple for the past 11 years now. I will be the first one to step up and tell our Board of Directors if I can no longer continue to fulfill my duties as Apple\u2019s CEO. I hope the Apple community will support me in my recovery and know that I will always put what is best for Apple first.
\nSo now I\u2019ve said more than I wanted to say, and all that I am going to say, about this.
