Ambas han hecho compras importantes en el \u00e1rea de inteligencia de negocios desde hace un tiempo.<br \/>\nEstando presente en el evento Information OnDemand de IBM he podido conversar con algunos ejecutivos de buen  nivel y me ha quedado en claro de que para ellos la adquisici\u00f3n de empresas ha pasado a ser algo casi tan importante como lo son la investigaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo.<br \/>\nAunque todas las compras de IBM permiten \u201cque el mercado siga creciendo, en vez de cerrarlo\u201d tal como me dijo un ejecutivo regional, es claro que esta crisis terminar\u00e1 de darles facilidades a las empresas grandes \u2013y con flujo de caja positivo\u2014para adquirir tecnolog\u00edas de terceros, y que a veces est\u00e1s tecnolog\u00edas no ser\u00e1n tan amplias despu\u00e9s de la compra. Pero por ahora IBM con la compra de Cognos \u2013y m\u00e1s recientemente SPSS&#8211;  y SAP con la de Business Objects han demostrado que ese enfoque parece ser viable.<br \/>\nSin duda que inteligencia de negocios, y en especial las herramientas que permitan hacer predicciones basados en los datos, ser\u00e1n temas que continuaran en la mira de todas las empresas por un tiempo, y en esa \u00e1rea es seguro que seguir\u00e1n las adquisiciones.
